The Biggest Loser Episodes 11 & 12

Last time on An Episode I Don't Remember:
Something with weights. Adrian got canned.

This week on The Biggest Public Service Announcement:
So some places have referred to this long episode as two separate episodes, so I will as well. It was more like one real episode and one hugely rather unnecessary PSA. Of course I am glad they did something nice for their hometown communities, but really, I'd rather have seen the finale. I thought tonight would be the finale and this only means that during finals week, I will have the temptation of all these finales all over the place. TAR is having its finale right before my take home final is due and Biggest Loser is on right before I have to get up early for a two-final day. Boo on that.

In other news, Biggest Loser is going to high schools. Namely, Kim's alma mater and also Matt Hoover's. Matt was last year's Biggest Loser. Now I understand wanting to involve the past winner, but really, does this just mean that Bob didn't go to high school? And Matt, by the way? Has beefed up. He looks like he lifts a thousand pounds all the time when he works out. Crazy.

I don't want to cover this huge PSA, but I will say, I thought Kim couldn't count because I remember Bob saying he would have a team of five kids, and then Kim had six with her. Then I realized, oh.. looks like only five brave souls from that school wanted to contend with Bob.

That's it for "Episode 11."

This week on Was Suzy's Dream Always To Be That Ditsy Blonde Chick That Every Guy Slept With In High School?:
That's the longest title yet. Anyway, this entire episode is one big montage of everything that's already happened. It's like the reflection episode or something. There's a lot of tears. And I finally realized that I don't necessarily hate Kai. I think she's probably a good person. Heather though? Is annoying. She's always yelling at someone.

Oh, and I love how when they recapped all the fallen non-losers from this show that Jenn who was cut first is one of the people in better shape now. I think if Jenn would have stayed longer, I would have liked her. She didn't seem like the type to put up a good fight, but she wouldn't have been annoying like Heather. And Heather? Guess what.. you don't actually have a chance in winning this. I have a feeling you're not a Suzy. You won't magically become like 110 pounds. You'll probably even out at 130-ish 140-ish. Not that that's a problem at all. I would like to be that weight. It's just, really, Kai is one who has a good chance. She's the one that might have a chance at being the first female Biggest Loser.

So they have this faux challenge in which nobody wins anything. Or I guess as the trainers would put it, everybody wins. Oh, but first, in a weird segment, the contestants get to train the trainers. Which didn't seem like it was that exciting to me. Because don't trainers do this all the time? You won't be able to break them down. Anyway..

The challenge is a triathalon and it's supposed to be a reflection on how they wouldn't have been able to do this when they first got on the ranch. They all decide to do it together instead of racing to win. Which is nice. Except when Heather can't run because of her knee, only Kim and Kai stick with her and the boys run with Bob.

Blah, blah, everybody's so much thinner. At the weigh in, everybody pulls big numbers. Heather pulls a 7 out of her ass. I don't know how because she hasn't been able to run at all. Eric pulls a 12, putting him square into the finals. Here's the thing with Eric. At a healthy weight, he would probably weigh close to as much as the other men. However, he started at a way higher number. If he can get down to the same weight as Wylie at the final weigh-in, then he'll have the biggest percentage by far. It'll be nice. I like Eric. He should win.

Anyway, Kai only loses 4 pounds and Jaron loses 7, which put the two of them in the bottom 2. Of course, they all keep their initial group strong and kick out Jaron. The final four are Eric, Wylie, Heather, and Kai. I would have rather seen Pam here over Heather. That girl didn't make excuses. She pushed herself hard.

We don't even get to see an after-the-ranch interview segment of Jaron. Instead, the final four head home and we see the first glimpses of them being welcomed by family.

Next week on The Biggest Loser Finale:
They hint at one contestant perhaps failing to continue their weight loss plan. They suggest that it's Kai who has the dilemma, so I'll go out on a limb and say she's the winner. If there is actually news, I would say maybe someone's pregnant or something. I hope Eric comes back completely unrecognizable. He's such a trooper.

The Biggest Loser Episode 10

Last time on The Biggest Loser:
Adrain threw a hissy fit. Kai biked really hard. Wiley didn't lose any weight. Eric and Marty were the only blues left. Eric voted out Marty.

This week on A Rather Uneventful Episode:
We knew it would be a big deal and it is. Eric has to face Bob after voting out Marty. As expected, Bob throws a tantrum. Here's the thing that I don't like about this show. The trainers aren't strong enough. It's like I want Bob and Kim to be these strong, unbreakable, reasonable forces. I want them to give the correct advice all the time and I don't want them to be part of the drama. I guess, in a way, I want them to be Tim Gunn. Which they aren't and will never be because nobody can measure up to Tim. However, they're just as much part of the drama as the contestants.

Bob even breaks down and says he has to see all of these people leave every week and it sucks. And no matter how Eric tries to explain it, Bob doesn't get it. Maybe it's the Truman Show. Everybody but Bob knows that this is a TV show.. it's a game. Eric was playing smart. It's true that it could have been a big challenge and great competition to be at the end with Marty, but if Eric wants to win, Marty's someone that needed to go sooner rather than later. Anyway, Bob finally decides to completely forget that he's mad at Eric and they start training really really hard.

So they arrive at some horse racing place.. what's that called? I don't know. They arrive for their challenge. Each of them will have to strap on weights that represent each amount of weight they lost in the preceding weeks. Then, they have to run around like they're horses in a derby and drop off the weight that corresponds to each week in respective barrels. First to cross the finish line wins a visit from home.

I think this is a great challenge, perhaps the best they've had. I really like to idea to putting the old weight back on so that they know just how much they've changed. Eric has to put on 100 pounds! That's crazy. Not only should this show them how much heavier they once were, but this should also show them how much stronger they are now. None of them could've ran this race on day 1. Now they're all here giving it their all and running with the amount of weight they carried when they started. I think it's great. If anything will shock them into being afraid of going back to how they were before, this will.

Heather can't race because she hurt her ankle. Maybe the karma fairy came by and made a pothole appear in front of her when she was walking. I don't like Heather. She's the one that yelled at Jenn on the first episode. That was so mean. Jenn's probably lighter than Heather is now. I remember seeing her clip from home and she looked like she lost a lot of weight.

Anyway.. so the front runners in this race seem to be Wiley, Jaron, and Adrian. Wiley and Adrian both at one point miss when they toss their weight into a barrel and have to run back and put it in. This makes them lose valuable time and Jaron ends up winining, with Adrian just seconds behind him. I'm surprised that everybody knew exactly how much they had lost each week. I'm also pretty pleased that the two at-home contestants did the best in this endurance challenge. It shows that while being at the ranch helps everybody a lot, perhaps Bob and Kim aren't the best at building endurance. Or at least, two people did better at building endurance at home than the four at the ranch did. Sucked for Eric having to carry so much weight, but Jaron was carrying almost as much and he rocked.

There's a lot of filler, or there must be, because I don't remember what else happened. Jaron's wife Tara arrives and says how proud she is of Jaron. Everybody seemed only mildly interested that she's around and nothing exciting happens. There's a lot of Bob/Eric time where Bob talks about how Eric is working to keep not only himself on the ranch, but Bob as well. There's a lot of foreshadowing that tells us Eric will actually pull a huge number and not be in danger.

At the weigh-in, we find out how hardcore this competition really is. It isn't about being consistent in losing weight. It's about being consistent in losing a lot of weight. I never watched the first two seasons completely, but I've seem most episodes.. enough to know that contestants were never losing this much weight so late in the game. This is amazing. Kai does really well, making herself the woman who's lost the most weight as far as numbers go. Jaron does well. Wiley pulls a gazillion pounds or something, after losing nothing last week. Heather gets a 5, which is typical of her, but not enough for this week. Adrian gets 2, which is better than nothing, and nothing to snort at being at the weight she's currently at. She pisses and moans about how she'll always be the chunky girl or something. Which, look around you.. see anybody smaller than you? No. Go away.

Eric is last and he gets the whole extreme dramatic edit for the week. Eric has lost 12 pounds, which makes his weight lost for the past three weeks almost the same as Heather's total weight loss. Not that the two of them started at the same weight. But this is huge. Eric is in the 200's and it makes him really happy. That's awesome. He's gone from 400-something to 200-something. He's lost the most weight anybody's lost on this show. Really? Suzy from last season got tiny. And the guy who won the voted-off players challenge lost a lot too. Either way, that's great for everybody.

Bob finds out that Eric is amazing and he's thrilled. Kim looks worried, but then she finds out Adrian is in the bottom 2 and we all know Kim doesn't love Adrian like a child like she loves her originals. More like a stepdaughter. Too bad. Kai votes for Adrian because Heather is her heart or something. No wonder she's so cold-hearted. Jaron votes for Heather because Adrian is of his kind. Either Wiley or Eric votes for Adrian, I don't remember. Anyway, Adrian has to go home and we don't see the last vote because the tiebreaker in this game once it's down to individuals is whoever lost the least percentage of weight goes home.

In Adrian's post-show clips, I think she's gained a couple pounds. She looks good, though, so whatever. Whatever, Adrian.

Next week on The Biggest Loser:
It's a two-hour show, so I think it's the finale? I'm not sure. Anyway, there's one more cut before the final weigh-in and Eric has to go for it as hard as he can to pull another huge number. At the final four, contestants will return to their homes and continue working out there before they all return to have their final weigh-ins. This is the best part. I love before and after shots of anything. Whether it's makeovers, weight loss, home remodeling, whatever. It should be good.

The Biggest Loser Episode 9

I have decided that bullet points makes it extremely difficult to read. Let's try to nix that. Helps that for this week, I did not take notes. Also, I am writing these recaps from my home-home, not my school-home.

Last week on The Biggest Loser:
Adrian and Jaron returned to the game because they lost a gazillion pounds. Adrian threw a hissy fit or two, but not before both trainers showed how obviously upset they were that the producers made them look like fools. Heather was a b... herself this week and decided to gain four pounds so she could get rid of Bobby. They voted off Bobby.

This week:
Bob now only has two people to train while Kim has like six or something. I don't know why they think she's a better trainer. From what I see, she just doesn't push them to the point that Bob does. Not that Bob is all that awesome either. Well.. they show Wylie overtraining, and FORESHADOWING, anyone?

This week's challenge involves riding an exercise bike high in the air and every 2 miles a person reaches, they get to send someone down ten feet. After being sent down thirty feet, it is game over. The last person standing will win immunity for the vote. And this week is the first week it's an individual game.

So this challenge also apparently involved Adrian throwing a hissy-fit, Kai playing the sympathy card, but also Kai biking faster than anyone else. By the end of the challenge, Kai is two miles ahead of Eric and they're pretty neck-and-neck for the win. Whoever reaches their two mile mark first would be the winner. Kai pulls it out and wins the immunity. I don't like that people spared her because she was afraid of heights, but I do like that she won it being the person who biked the most.

Anyway, some other stuff happens that involves training and Adrian being upset.

At the weigh-in, the two people with the lowest percentage weight-loss for this week would be in the danger zone. Adrian and Jaron pull good numbers again. Eric pulls double digits. Heather gets a 7, which means she only lost 3 additional pounds to the four she gained last week. Wylie loses 0 pounds because apparently he worked out too much. Marty loses 8 pounds but is still below the yellow line, which is ridiculous and incredible.

At the judgement table, Adrian and Jaron vote for Marty. Heather and Kai vote for Wylie because they wanted him gone like a month ago. And because they say when you do poorly one week, the next week, you'll do amazing. Like Heather, who technically lost three pounds. That's how I see it, anyway. So it comes down to Eric to break the tie and everybody assumes it's Wylie who's going home. Incredibly, Eric votes for Marty, who he said he wouldn't vote for since the two of them are the only blues remaining. He says she wants to win the game. If you think about it, though, Marty lost 8 pounds and was still below the yellow line. This game may become harder for him, being one of the heavier yet more muscular players left. I don't think this would have been the last time in the danger zone for him.

Sorry, Marty, you are not the biggest loser. We are shown that Marty was the best teacher in the world. He lost an additional twenty-five pounds after going home. Awesome.

Next week on The Biggest Loser:
I don't think I saw the preview, but here's a guess. Bob is mad at Eric for voting out Marty. Adrian throws a hissy-fit. Heather and Kai are in the bottom two (I hope, I hope, I hope).

Until next time..

The Biggest Loser Episode 8

(Quick summary.. I watched this a long time ago and right now I'm in a little crunch for time. Just spent three days watching Veronica Mars Season 1.)

Last week, Brian and Pam were sent home because they were not the biggest losers. Caroline Rhea told us that they would be replaced by two new people.

This week, we're introduced to the three men and three women that lost the most weight at home. They mingle with the others for a night. Heather and Kai even act like fools and try to move a bed from their room into Pam's old room and then finally realize they could just give up their room for a night. Geniuses, I tell you.

The at-home contestants get to be weighed. They've all lost a gazillion pounds and look fantastic. The one guy and one girl with the biggest weight loss percentages will get to rejoin the game. Adrian is the girl with the biggest loss. She's loss like 50 pounds and is now like 170 pounds. Jaron is the guy with the biggest loss. He's.. I forget how much he lost. Anyway, Caroline rubs it in the contestants faces that Adrian has the largest percentage weight loss out of all of them and Jaron is in second.

General consensus: Nobody is happy. The contestants are pissed because they don't think it's fair that people are only now joining the game. Well, it probably didn't seem fair to them when they weren't chosen to be on the ranch. The trainers? Are obviously pissed. Because how embarrassing is it to see that people have lost more weight at home without you than the other contestants have at the ranch? Kim actually grills Adrian on what she did to lose weight at home and then was like, "See? Age is a huge issue. See? Beer is a lot of extra weight you lose when you stop drinking." I don't like Kim very much. Trainers in general have a certain attitude that I don't like. Jackie on Workout has the same attitude but I have less of a problem with her, probably because Mimi was so ridiculous.

There's a challenge that involves a mini challenge where the pairs have to calculate calories. The pair that is closest gets to choose what objects everybody gets to carry a ton of. There are jugs of water, bricks, dumbells, and tires. Wylie and Marty win the calorie count by being like ten off or something, which was surprising and ridiculous because the others were like 800 off or more. They choose the jugs. Kai and Eric get the tires. Heather and Bobby get the dumbells. Adrian and Jaron get the bricks. Which sucks. I don't like this challenge because it pretty much should have just been a calorie count. The winner of that was the winner of the challenge. Anyway, Wylie and Marty win. Heather, Bobby, Kai, Eric all decide to finish and Adrian and Jaron say screw it. There's a big fuss about finishing what you start and yeah, I get the point. But you know, if all the objects were the same, I would say they should have finished. The fact that they were obviously given the short stick.. I don't know. Whatever.

There's drama with Adrian and how Kim's workouts aren't as intense as hers, but they do excessive amounts of them. Basically, Adrian did practical workouts at home. Kim does a lot of workouts that make sense to do, but wouldn't be practical with real lives at home. Adrian's frustrated. Kim's a prima donna. On and on it goes.

They have their weigh-in. The bottom team is Heather and Bobby. Why? Because Heather the moron decided it would be a good idea to gain weight. Because she's "playing the game." I didn't like it when Eric did it, but when he did it, he knew Kai would use the free pass, so he wasn't trying to screw her over. He was trying to get everybody on an even playing field. Heather was trying to screw over Bobby because he's a threat, aka a male. I don't like Heather. She and Kai are so adament on having a female win, but probably not one named Adrian I'm sure, that they will do anything. Ugh. So Bobby apparently checked out of the game a week or two ago because he misses home and Bob gives him some spiel and tells him to serve it right to Heather. Unfortunately, each pair only has one vote and they agree to vote off Bobby.

Next week on The Biggest Loser, Adrian loses it.

Until next time..

The Biggest Loser Episode 7

So this week on The Biggest Loser, they had a pseudo-merge. The teams became null and void and they were put into pairs, each with one red team member and one blue team member. So this week's pseudo-merge was met with a pseudo-temptation. Basically, there were eight boxes and anybody who participated would have to stick their hand into a box and either eat whatever food was in there or it would be the winning box with some sort of card in it, which meant they'd be able to choose the teams. So they go in some strange order that they seemed to randomly pick on the stop. The whole time, I was thinking it's 6, it's 6, it's 6. I'm not even positive it was box 6, but I think it was. Anyway, it just happens that it's the last box picked, and Wylie picks it, which, good for him. He's been pretty much the red team bottom bitch for like three weeks.. not by choice. Those three red team girls have been threatening to kick him off for awhile, and now he pretty much has the ability to say, you know what? I pick Marty.

So, yeah, basically Wylie picks Marty. They have some ceremony type thing where Wylie names all the teams. Kai has the free pass still from a few weeks ago when the entire red team ate like five tons of food. So who she's placed with is a huge deal and everybody has their opinion on who she should be paired with. Ultimately, Wylie's thinking long-term, and puts Eric with Kai because Eric "needs to be [t]here." Apparently nobody has faith in Eric and if he doesn't stay on the ranch for a long time, he'll be hopeless at home and be 900 pounds at the reunion. Well, I like Eric. I have faith in him. But either way, put him with Kai, whatever. Brian is with Pam. Heather is with Bobby. Wylie smartly chooses Marty, which in a way is nice, because both of them were almost voted off at some point in the past, and they've both lost a lot of weight.

Next is either the challenge or a workout. I think it's a workout. Bob and Kim have to train the teams together or something. The old teams still hang out sometimes and it's just kinda weird because Bob and Kim don't have similar styles of training. Bob is more hardcore and Kim is more lax, is what I get a feel of. There's a little tiff between the two trainers over pre-challenge training.. so it was before the challenge. Kim doesn't think Bob should kill the contestants and Bob doesn't kill them, so it's basically a pointless argument. I like Bob.

Oh, let's talk about Kim. Not so much about her as about how she's on the show now. I have no idea what happened to the old trainer Jillian, but she appeared on Kathy Griffin's My Life on the D-List. She was at Kathy's Toys for Tots charity event and was apparently following Kathy around. As Kathy puts it, she was annoying and Kathy didn't know who she was. I thought it was funny. I've wondered if she was fired for being obnoxious ever since.

So then there's the challenge. It's very Survivor-esque. The pairs have to hold up a metal rod with one arm each. This rod is inside of a metal circle. If the rod touches any part of the circle at any point, the circle lights into a ball of flames, or whatever Caroline Rhea called it. Coincidentally, Caroline Rhea has been on My Life on the D-List as well, but not as an annoying troll, but as one of Kathy's only female friends. Anyway, I think Kai drops the ball first, not literally, and she and Eric are out. Then it's Heather and Bobby. Finally, something happens that was either Marty telling Wylie to let Pam and Brian have it, or Marty doing something stupid and accidentally tilting the rod too far. Anyway, Pam and Brian win a phone call home.. and video phone call. They both have small children.

Weigh-ins! Caroline says something about not dropping below the yellow line and because I was playing minesweeper while I was watching the show, I thought something weird was going on that involved raising and lowering them or something. Basically, they didn't want to be in the bottom two teams. Because, oh I didn't mention this.. an entire team is going home! So It's Pam and Brian in the bottom two because Pam's fear came true and she didn't lose that much weight again. And the other team was Kai and Eric because Eric gained 3 pounds. Shocker, yes. What we didn't know was Eric planned on slacking this week because he wanted to get the free pass out of the way and then kick a huge number next week. Smart game playing. Healthy? I'm not so sure. Bob doesn't respond to it in as pissed a manner as I thought he would. He was just like, hey, it's a game, or something.

So Kai and Eric use the free pass. No votes are shown. Pam and Brian go home. Sucks for Brian. He was biggest loser like three times or something. So we see that Brian has lost a lot of weight since getting home. He's also become a different person. His hair is short and his facial hair is either gone or very minimal. It's a huge change. Pam has lost another 25 pounds, which is nice. I think Jenn from episode 1 has seemed like the most drastic change of all the women bootees so far.

The big shocking preview ends up being.. basically a preview for next week. Caroline Rhea brings back six contestants that didn't make it onto the ranch. Three women, three men. The biggest losers of the bunch, top male and top female, will join the competition as a new team replacing Brian and Pam. There's a lot of bitching and moaning from everybody, especially Heather and Kai about how they didn't want to trade Pam and Brian who this. Boo hoo. I guess I see where they're coming from, but as a viewer, I LOVE this twist. It wasn't so much of a surprise since they're been telling us about it all season, but I'm really pumped. North Dakota chick looks so small. I don't know what she started at, but the girl doesn't look like she should be on a show called The Biggest Loser.

Next week we'll find out who's coming back.
